August 31, 2024Aug 31 The scene opens in a dark, dimly lit room. Shadows dance along the stone walls, and the only sound is the slow drip of water from an unseen source. A large figure sits in the corner, his face hidden beneath a heavy cloak. Slowly, he lifts his head, revealing the twisted, sinister grin of “The Transylvanian Psychopath” Blackthorne. His eyes are filled with malice, but his voice is calm, measured, almost soothing. Blackthorne: Hector... Ethan... the names fall from his lips like a curse. So, it comes to this, doesn’t it? AWS Throwdown. Two champions. Two men who believe they are at the pinnacle of their careers... Blackthorne rises slowly, his massive frame casting a long shadow as he approaches the camera. Blackthorne: But I wonder… how much do either of you truly understand about pain? You wear your titles, parade them around, believing they offer you strength. Hector, you cling to that Digital Media Championship like it’s your salvation, as if it shields you from the inevitable. The truth is, it’s nothing more than a gilded noose. And you, Ethan... the Asylum Heavyweight Champion... you wear your crown proudly, but it’s not a crown of glory. Oh no. It’s a crown of thorns, and every thorn digs deeper into your flesh, into your mind, feeding the doubt you try so desperately to hide. He tilts his head, smiling wider, his eyes narrowing. Blackthorne: Let me speak plainly, because I know your minds are already starting to unravel. You see, Hector, you’ve built a little empire online, haven’t you? The king of digital warfare, the man who fights with pixels and screens. But when the lights dim, and the signal fades... what are you left with? A man with no legacy. You fight to be remembered, but I promise you this: after AWS Throwdown, the only thing people will remember about Hector Venegas is the sound of your skull cracking when I drive it into the mat. Your fans will scream for you, but their voices will be drowned out by the silence of your own failure. He chuckles, the sound cold and sharp. Blackthorne: And then there’s Ethan Murphy... the so-called monster of the Asylum. Oh, you’ve done well for yourself, haven’t you? Brutality, strength, a thirst for violence that rivals my own. But here’s the difference, Ethan. Your violence is reactionary. It’s instinct. It’s wild. My violence... my malice... it’s calculated. It’s cold. While you rely on brute force, I craft destruction. I paint suffering. And when we step into that ring, Ethan, you’ll learn that your rage isn’t enough. Your strength isn’t enough. Blackthorne steps closer, his voice dropping to a low whisper, as if he's sharing a secret. Blackthorne: You both want to be the dominant force, the apex predator. But that’s where you’ve already lost. You’re trapped in this childish fantasy that strength and brutality will save you. It won’t. Because while you’re swinging blindly, hoping for a knockout, I’ll already be ten steps ahead, weaving a web you’ll never escape from. I’ll crawl into your minds, plant the seed of doubt, and when you feel that hesitation, that flicker of uncertainty... that’s when I strike. That’s when you’ll break. Blackthorne spreads his arms wide, as if embracing the darkness around him. Blackthorne: You see, I am not just a man. I am inevitable. I am the end you’ve both been avoiding for far too long. AWS Throwdown isn’t just another match. It’s your reckoning. Hector, Ethan, you’re walking into my world, my asylum, where there is no escape from the nightmares I bring. You’ll both crumble, your reigns will end, and when the dust settles... I will stand over you, victorious. And the world will know that the reign of the Transylvanian Psychopath has only just begun. He leans in, his face almost filling the screen, his eyes blazing with a terrifying calm. Blackthorne: Sleep well, champions. Enjoy these fleeting moments of glory... because after Throwdown, there will be nothing left of you but shadows and regrets. I will see you in your darkest dreams. Blackthorne steps back into the shadows, the screen fading to black as his laughter echoes into the void.
September 15, 2024Sep 15 Ethan Murphy was cutting his promo in the middle of the ring but it was just recently set up. There was nobody even in the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina. But there certainly would be by Ethan’s match. He was in the main event after all. A triple threat match against two dangerous opponents. He was the AWS Asylum Heavyweight Champion. The man of the Asylum Wrestling Society. The biggest star they had in the eyes of the fans and he had the schedule like it. He was front and center on all of the promotional material, he had to do all the media stuff, and had to balance all of that with training to hone his body and mind as a wrestler, while STILL spending time with his smoking hot girlfriend at home. Ethan STAYED busy but managed to pull all of it off in stride. This was nothing he couldn’t handle. Ethan LOVED the work and responsibility and with him being in his early 20s physically, spiritually, this was nothing that he couldn’t handle. The flow of work and pleasure was nothing to him. And as for the And he had been the AWS World Heavyweight Champion for a while now. But he wasn’t counting the days or letting that go to his head. He was taking every opponent or opponents as they came and meeting them head on. Not backing down for a single second. Whether his title was on the line or not. And it didn’t matter how many foes he had to face. Even if they were grizzled veterans and fellow champions like Hector Venegas or cold-blooded threats like Blackthorne This match for tonight’s AWS Throwdown he was going to do battle in happened to fall into the “or not” category though. Non title triple threat match against Hector Venegas and Blackthorne. He just wrestled in a non-title match against Hector who was also the Digital Media champion but Blackthorne was new to him. This match up put some things on his mind that he needed to vocalize. He was still in his street gear. Black leather jacket, red shirt, blue jeans, and Nike shoes. All while there was a camera waiting for him in the ring with a microphone in his hand. Time to hear the AWS World Heavyweight Champion speak. Ethan Murphy: I feel like I’m a wanted man these days y’know? I know that me being the AWS Heavyweight Champion puts a huge target on my back. Nobody in the locker room actually likes me for me. And management is trying to gauge and test to see who can challenge me for the championship I wear proudly. Finding opponents to fight me by testing the waters in any match. Whether it’s a singles battle or a triple threat. This made Ethan smirk. Ethan Murphy: It really doesn’t matter if I’m facing one, two, or ten opponents or if my championship is on the line or not. I don’t back down from any man no matter how many there are. And if you think for a second that I’m going into this match at half speed just because I’m only defending myself and not the title then you just don’t know me very well. Which means that things won’t be looking good for my opponents Hector Venegas and Blackthorne no matter how good they are. Ethan was telling the truth. Being the world heavyweight champion meant that you didn’t make wholesome friends. At best you had alliances. Not to mention these types of matches were a good way to find opponents that could measure up to him and be worthy title contenders. Ethan Murphy: Seriously. Hector you are one of the toughest men I ever wrestled against and I respect you because you’re real. There’s no mystery about who you are and what you stand for. You took me to the limits when we fought at Ward and pushed me to lengths that I don’t go to just to beat you. No wonder you’re the Digital Media Champion. The face of our cutting edge media and help showcase how fun, exciting, and just plain good Asylum Society Wrestling is but I’ve beaten you before and I’ll beat you again. And no disrespect to you and your talents but I’m simply on a higher level than you and I’m not stepping down anytime soon!…But then there’s you Blackthorne and unlike Hector Venegas who I respect as a wrestler and as a man I don’t respect you and I have no problems admitting it. Ethan made it clear that even though he didn’t like Hector and believed that he could beat him again there was an element of respect between them. He acknowledged Hector’s skills and had no problem praising him. Just that he wasn’t going to lose to him. It was Blackthorne however who was going to get Ethan’s true venom and anger. Ethan Murphy: I like fighting guys like you Blackthorne. Men who act all weird and scary and talk cryptic and creepy to try and scare someone. That shit might work on the fans but not me. I’ve made a LEGACY here beating men like you and I’m not gonna stop! And here's the thing, you’re right about how violent I am, how brutal I am, and how I do wrestle with rage. But here’s the thing. That’s my strength! When that bell rings it doesn’t matter if I like you or not, if I respect you or not, I see you as an enemy and I fight with everything I have because I can’t stand losing. That’s how I became the AWS Asylum Heavyweight Champion. By using that rage to the highest level in that ring so I can get to the highest level in the Asylum Wrestling Society. Just by being ME. Ethan got triggered by Blackthorne’s words but rightfully so. He tried to make it seem like his anger was lesser, more unstable than his own. Did it feed into Blackthorne’s plans with how he reacted? Possibly. But what was definite was how Ethan’s fury led to championship gold. Perhaps Blackthorne bit off more than he could chew… Ethan Murphy: So even if my title isn’t on the line here at Madness my pride is. Hector I’ve beaten you before and I will do it again and remind you that you’re just not on my level. And Blackthorne you’re going to get every single bit of the rage you mock once that bell rings. I’ll tell the AWS Medical Staff to get ready for you because I’m winning our triple threat match. End of story. And those were the last words that Ethan said before leaving the ring and retreating backstage to end the scene.
