Jamal's deathmatch

Jamal Payne thought he could rest after the “bring your own weapons” match at the last Ward show. No more weapons or hardcore shit at least for a while. His next match, after the AWS event that was essentially an ode to ECW, could be something normal as he returned home to Virginia after a loss. He didn’t win but he didn’t look weak either. It sucked that he lost but he didn’t look like a bitch in defeat. It was bearable.

So when Jamal came home after surviving one hardcore match he was expecting, if not hoping he’d either some time to rest or better yet a more normal bout. But the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry…

Jamal Payne: Hold up. Are you fucking kidding me? I got another match like these at Ward and against that nut Damien? Son of a bitch. Shit…fine… Alright. At least when I beat his bloody face and win it'll be worth it. Gotta tell my wife about this shit…

“Damien Kostich vs Jamal Payne: Taipei Death Match: Fists wrapped in tape, dipped in glue, and coated with broken glass; win by pinfall or submission.” was what the match graphic said. Much to Jamal’s anger as he shook his head. He was never one of those wrestlers to bitch about matches he didn’t like to the company’s management. He hadn’t done something like that in his earliest years in professional wrestling. But he didn’t like these types of matches. He’d put in work, do the training to get ready of course. But it was tough to prepare for a glass-covered fist in his face. Luckily though he could take his aggression on Damien and get the win. In fact as he left the email Jamal went to work preparing for battle.
**********
The scene started with Jamal in the comfort of his home in Virginia. In his living room. Fireplace roaring at night. His kids were asleep so he could get right to his thoughts with no issues. He wore his house clothes as he focused on the camera with a tall glass of whiskey. Straight too and resting on a coaster and a face that radiated resting fury to show that he was not amused at his current situation.

Jamal Payne: The things I do in the sport I love… I have been wrestling since 1995. Yeah I'm a certified old-head in this business. Triple OG. Been in this business since my opponent for this big-ass Ward show Damien Kostich was knee high to a grasshopper. And before signing that Asylum Wrestling Society contract I had a full career. Wrestled in arenas big and small in every kind of crowd in almost every kind of match before I even got here…

Jamal took a sip of his highball whiskey before finishing his reply as the fans got to see the crypto.com arena and some quick pictures of Jamal Payne through his three decades in the business.

Jamal Payne: But now that I get to the Asylum Wrestling Society I’m thrown into a lot of super hardcore shit. Things involving weapons and the more creative the better I guess. And yeah I’m used to putting people through tables, using steel chairs, kendo sticks, trash can lids. I’ve been doing this for 30 years. That shit is normal for me. But now I’m thrown into a taipei death match. Glass shards, glue, gonna be blood everywhere. You AWS management y’all love seeing my big old ass in matches I got no business being in. And against that nut Damien Kostich who should be behind bars. Shiiiiiiit. Alright…you want me in this brutal-ass match fine…

Jamal took another swig of his alcoholic potion with the words of his last statement blending with a highlight reel of his hardcore feats. Utilizing conventional pro wrestling weapons, leading up to clips of taipei deathmatches, and shots of Damien himself looking absolutely menacing.

Jamal Payne: I don’t like this match but you Damien Kostich you probably feel right at home in this muthafucka. The chance to bust me open, cut me up, hell this is a deathmatch so the wrong move could make me meet death and I ain’t ready for that shit yet. You see where I live. I got a family to take care of unlike a lot of people in the Asylum including your crazy ass. I got people who depend on me to wrestle to make money and I’ve made a lot of it. It’s my passion and it led me here and the Freight Train is proud to roll through these AWS tracks! And yeah I see matches like this which I don’t like but that just drives me to want to win them more. Especially if I know I ain’t the favorite in them. So go on you fake-ass Hannibal Lecter. Talk to your handler. Get ready!

Jamal took a final swig of his neat whiskey.

Jamal Payne: Because when we rumble in Los Angeles. Bright lights, big city. Nothing is going to stop the Freight Train Jamal Payne from running your ass OVER!
