Opinions
The camera opened to the eerily still form of Drake Nygma. Features tight, hard and more than a little focused on it. Dressed in a black suit head from head to toe he began to speak in a far colder voice than normal.
Drake: “I’ve heard everything you had to say, every opinion: I’ve heard you out. You promised to haunt my waking dreams, be my boogeyman. Fascinating claims you’ve made there Vastrix. Then we arrived today. Scripts. AI. Detectors. Oh MY. If I didn’t know any better I’d say someone has developed an opinion and expects everyone to fall in line with the opinion of the great Jeremiah Vastrix.”
Drake took a pause here glaring at the screen. Not full out anger, not yet despite the dismissive tone of his words.
Drake:“Then we have your perspective on my actions. Apparently I’m not allowed to make choices anymore. There’s a word for men who believe they have the right to decide what someone is allowed to do or not do. Would you like to know what that word is? Tyrant. Oppressor. Dictator. Tell me Jeremiah am I allowed to dictate your actions, thoughts? Assign meaning to them. I won’t pretend I’m allowed to do that. That is what authenticity means to me.”
Slowly Drake turned to look off camera at the waiting form of his younger sister Mia Nygma and her tag team partner Riley Rune. Breathing slowly he began to speak once more, his voice dropping into a softer almost amused range.
Drake: “You claim you’ll stand over me. Interesting. Tell me Vastrix: what happens when someone requests you change. When someone finds a flaw in you: expects you to follow the opinions you are placing on others. Will you suddenly discover nuance? You’ll leave me broken and walk out with two titles. Give it your best shot, Vastricia. I really hope you can live up to those words.”
Drake: “Wouldn’t want to be a liar now would we? Jerry Vastrix.”
Mia burst out laughing as she entered line of sight. Her expression delighted beyond compare.
Mia Nygma: “Jeremiah of the Vastrixes. You are free to have whatever opinions you like. So am I. So is Drake. So is everyone. This is the first and only time I want to have to say this to anyone: Don’t tell anyone else how to think, act, speak, feel, what their actions mean. If you can’t do that then you and I are gonna have a big FUCKING problem. Have I made myself clear?”
The camera faded to black on the image of Mia, Drake and Riley standing side by side giving the middle finger to the camera.
