Gabriel and Antoine LeClair were the current AWS World Tag Team Champions and they had one core goal in mind that branched out to even more goals and that was simple. Don’t get soft after you win hard gold.

It was a simple goal but it meant a lot if you thought about it. Train harder, train smarter, watch for all opponents, and stay focused on every possible show. Make the best promos possible And when you did wrestle, simply put, lock the fuck in and give it everything you have. Strong mind, strong body, strong heart. That’s the mantra that the Bayou Blaze had. Especially as they held tag team title gold because in the Asylum Wrestling Society there were always tag teams ready to take you down and take those titles away. And at the upcoming Ward show in Christchurch, New Zealand they had to deal with Karli Rae and Rylie Stone trying to do just that.

In terms of popular perception you’d be hard-pressed to find a tag team that was a bigger deal especially among the women than Karli Rae and Rylie Stone. They won matches, they sold merch, the people loved them and wanted them to succeed. They were that good and that fun and carried that energy to every match and promo.

But here’s the thing. So did the Bayou Blaze. Their energy and athletics and fast and furious strikes were a good matchup for Karli and Rylie and they were definitely going to give the AWS Ward fans around the world an absolute spectacle! And yeah the titles weren’t on the line so in terms of stakes Gabriel and Antoine had nothing to lose. They’d walk out of Ward with the titles regardless. But respect and status still mattered. As champions in the society you weren’t just expected to defend your title but represent it in the ring as well. That meant winning matches when your title was not on the line. That was the goal that Gabriel and Antoine had in mind

So the scene at hand for Ward was uniquely Bayou Blaze. First a black screen appeared. No sound, just darkness. Then the sound of a lighter flickering on.

Gabriel LeClair: Time to bring the heat. 

Antoine LeClair: Christchurch, New Zealand we're coming. 

Then as the flame flicked the faces of the Bayou Blaze came on screen once it was bright enough. Gabriel and Antoine looking intently into the camera. Stoic and calm for now. But the Bayou Blaze never stayed that way.

Gabriel LeClair: Yeah, put that light on us right there. Because that’s how it’s supposed to be since we run the tag team scene of the Asylum Wrestling Society. So no matter where we go or what country we’re in…

Antoine LeClair: We’re still the hottest thing going in the entire Asylum…

Then overhead the AWS Tag Team titles where shown posted above Gabriel and Antoine as if they were on a wall under a tiki torch

Antoine LeClair: Karli, Rylie. Get ready for the fire. You got us in a match at the upcoming AWS Ward show. And yeah the titles ain't on the line but that don't mean a thing to my brother and I. We fight hard no matter what.

Gabriel LeClair: Yeaaaah y'all finna go down to us tonight because we got plans on winning with no doubt. Putting you ladies in your place. In defeat, looking up at those bright lights.

Antoine LeClair: So titles or not you won't be leaving the arena when with a win. Gabe and I have been training our asses off just in case any of you think we've gone soft since we earned title gold.

Gabriel LeClair: Our fire is still the hottest in the entire AWS Tag Team division. We ain’t lost a step. And yeah we see you Karli, Rylie, winnin’ matches and shit. Doin’ good, workin hard like you’re supposed to. Y’all probably think you’re in line for a title shot if you beat us at Ward right?...

Gabriel asked before pointing upward, right above him. That was when people got to see a mural of Karli and Rylie standing tall in the middle of the ring. Shown and revealed under another tiki torch.

Antoine LeClaire: But your roll ain’t long enough. The Bayou Blaze is the hottest thing going in the ENTIRE Asylum. We ain’t losing to anyone. Rookie or vet, new star or established player, male or female, so your fate will look like this when you fight us…

Then Antoine pointed above him and to the right of the mural and above the tag team titles was an arrow in flaming red pointing to Gabriel and Antoine standing high over the fallen Karli Rae and Rylie Stone in an AWS ring.

Gabriel LeClair: Me and Ant are artists in and out of the ring as you can tell and we do damn good work on both. 

Antoine LeClair: Now if you got a problem with all this then book that flight and we’ll see you in New Zealand. 

Antoine and Gabriel: Laissez les bon temps rouler

And after the brothers spoke in unity they walked off screen and let the image of the mural and the AWS Tag Team Championships be the last thing that the people would see at the moment. Next time people would see Antoine and Gabriel it would be time for them to fight Karlie Rae and Rylie Stone at AWS Ward in the Wellington Regional Stadium.
