Bo Wheeler is the kind of referee who looks like he’s already survived three cage matches before breakfast. Before becoming AWS’s Head Referee, Bo spent nearly 20 years traveling the independent circuit as a roughneck bruiser who specialized in bar fights, bullrope matches, and steel chain wars. Chronic knee injuries finally forced him out of active competition, but AWS owner management brought him in because nobody commands respect like Bo.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Bo Wheeler was a cult favorite across Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana wrestling territories. His career ended after a brutal chain match left him with a reconstructed knee and lingering nerve damage.

After years away from wrestling, AWS offered him a spot training referees. Bo eventually became Head Referee after exposing a corrupt official who had been taking bribes from a heel faction.

Now he runs the officiating crew like a hardened locker room sergeant.
