Roleplay Scoring System

The AWS Roleplay Scoring System is designed to reward creativity, storytelling, consistency, and match relevance rather than simply judging who writes the longest promo. Every category is scored on a 10-point scale except Match Relevance & Storytelling, creating a maximum score of 100 points.

1. Character Voice (10 Points)

Does the roleplay sound like the wrestler?

0-3

  • Generic.

  • Could belong to anyone.

4-7

  • Character personality is present.

8-10

  • Strong identity.

  • Distinct mannerisms and speaking style.

Examples

  • KD Feigel → passionate and determined.

  • Orphius Marius → poetic and sinister.

  • AJ Flare → arrogant superstar.

  • ONE → short, terrifying, few words.

2. Storytelling (15 Points)

Roleplays should tell a story rather than simply insult the opponent.

Consider:

  • Flashbacks.

  • Training segments.

  • Interviews.

  • Character development.

  • Personal motivations.

3. Match Relevance (15 Points)

How much of the promo focuses on the actual match?

Reward:

✅ Opponent references.

✅ Championship importance.

✅ Match stipulation.

Penalize:

❌ Random tangents.

❌ Unrelated stories.

4. Psychology and Realism (10 Points)

Good promos should make sense.

Reward:

  • Understanding strengths and weaknesses.

  • Acknowledging danger.

  • Explaining how victory is possible.

Example

Bad:

"I'm going to destroy a 400-pound monster in ten seconds."

Good:

"ONE is bigger than me. Stronger than me. But he only needs one mistake—and I only need one opening."

5. Creativity and Originality (10 Points)

Encourage unique presentations.

Examples

  • Documentary style.

  • News report.

  • Security footage.

  • Prison interview.

  • VHS tapes.

  • Press conferences.

  • Flashbacks.

  • Horror segments.

6. Intensity and Emotion (10 Points)

Does the roleplay make the reader feel something?

Reward:

  • Anger.

  • Fear.

  • Passion.

  • Confidence.

  • Desperation.

The best promos make readers care.

7. Opponent Promotion (10 Points)

One of the most important categories.

Burial hurts everyone.

Reward:

  • Giving the opponent credibility.

  • Mentioning accomplishments.

  • Showing respect or fear.

Example:

"David Stryker isn't just another kid. He's a third-generation prodigy, and if I underestimate him, he'll embarrass me."

Penalize:

"You're trash and have never done anything."

8. Structure and Flow (10 Points)

Good pacing

  • Introduction.

  • Middle.

  • Build-up.

  • Strong ending.

Easy-to-read formatting earns higher scores.

9. Impact and Memorable Moments (10 Points)

Ask:

Will fans remember this promo?

Reward:

  • Catchphrases.

  • Great lines.

  • Symbolism.

  • Emotional moments.

  • Shocking reveals.

Example:

"You don't survive the Asylum by being fearless.

You survive by teaching fear to be afraid of you."
