GIMMICK
Talia Penn is the biological daughter of Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel.
There are two rather important details Talia doesn't know.
The first is that Carol Danvers is her mother.
The second is that there is anything unusual about her history at all.
Talia is completely human. She has no superpowers, no enhanced durability, no cosmic abilities, and no secret energy waiting to awaken. If Talia gets hit, she gets hurt. If she gets dropped on her head, gravity works exactly as advertised. Her remarkable size, athleticism, strength, and stubborn refusal to quit belong entirely to her.
As far as Talia knows, she is simply Talia Penn: a very large twenty-one-year-old woman from Kansas who discovered that professional wrestling provides an unusually socially acceptable environment in which to pick people up and throw them.
The nickname “Lift” came naturally.
Talia lifts things.
Usually people.
Sometimes things containing people.
She is energetic, curious, impulsive, friendly, occasionally confrontational, and possessed of the unfortunate habit of acting on an idea approximately three seconds before considering whether the idea was sensible. She genuinely likes people until they give her a reason not to. She dislikes bullies, manipulation, and anyone who believes physical size automatically makes them entitled to intimidate someone smaller.
Talia isn't trying to become her mother.
She doesn't even know who her mother is.
She is trying to discover who Talia Penn is.
ENTRANCE DESCRIPTION
The opening notes of “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy hit and Talia Penn doesn't make the audience wait.
She steps through the curtain with immediate energy, usually dressed in her entrance jacket over her wrestling gear, looking around at the arena as though she's still slightly amazed people are making this much noise because she's about to wrestle.
There is no elaborate choreography.
No carefully rehearsed pose.
No attempt at mysterious intimidation.
Talia walks toward the ring with long, confident strides, occasionally slapping extended hands along the barricade. Her interaction with the crowd depends heavily on her mood. Sometimes she's grinning. Sometimes she's intensely focused. Sometimes she'll stop because a fan said something interesting and briefly forget she's supposed to be making an entrance.
At ringside, Talia grabs the top rope and pulls herself onto the apron before stepping over the ropes rather than between them.
Once inside, she walks toward the center of the ring, rolls her shoulders, looks around the arena and raises both hands.
Then she makes a simple upward motion with her palms.
Get louder.
When the crowd responds, Talia smiles.
When they don't, she does it again.
Apparently they misunderstood the assignment.
RING ATTIRE
Talia wears practical powerhouse gear built around mobility rather than glamour.
Her standard attire consists of black full-length wrestling tights with dark blue and gold geometric accents, reinforced black knee pads, black wrestling boots, and athletic wrist tape. The word LIFT appears vertically along one leg in simple block lettering.
Her top is a sleeveless fitted black athletic top with matching blue and gold detailing.
Talia wears a lightweight dark blue sleeveless entrance jacket with a raised collar. The back features a minimalist upward-pointing arrow design rather than any overt superhero or cosmic imagery.
She wears no mask, cape, armor, or elaborate accessories.
Talia looks like someone who came to wrestle.
Because she did.
OUT-OF-RING APPEARANCE
Outside the ring, Talia dresses comfortably and with almost complete disregard for whether her clothing creates an intimidating first impression.
Hoodies, athletic jackets, fitted T-shirts, cargo pants, jeans, sneakers, and occasionally sweatpants make up most of her wardrobe. She frequently wears her sleeves pushed or rolled upward.
Her posture is relaxed but naturally imposing because of her height. Talia has an expressive face and terrible instincts for hiding what she's thinking. Confusion looks like confusion. Amusement looks like amusement. If she thinks someone has said something incredibly stupid, they will probably know.
Despite her size, Talia rarely deliberately looms over people.
Unless they deserve it.
IN-RING PSYCHOLOGY
Talia's wrestling philosophy can be summarized rather efficiently:
If something isn't working, try lifting it.
She approaches matches as physical problems requiring solutions. Talia prefers establishing her strength early, forcing opponents to understand that ordinary defensive positions aren't necessarily safe against someone capable of physically relocating them.
Her greatest weapon is momentum.
Once Talia establishes control, she likes chaining power moves together and forcing opponents to repeatedly expend energy escaping situations she can recreate.
Against faster wrestlers, she tries to reduce available space and intercept them.
Against technicians, she refuses prolonged mat exchanges whenever possible and attempts to physically break grips or simply stand up while carrying the person applying them.
Against other powerhouses, Talia becomes visibly excited.
Those matches frequently deteriorate into Talia attempting increasingly ridiculous feats of strength because somebody has accidentally presented her with a challenge.
She is still young and inexperienced enough to make mistakes. Talia can become frustrated, overcommit to attacks, chase spectacular moments when a simpler one would suffice, or allow an opponent to manipulate her emotions.
Her solution to Plan A failing is occasionally:
Plan A, but harder.

FINISHERS
Primary Finisher — THE FINAL WORD
Elevated Sit-Out Powerbomb
Talia hoists her opponent high above her shoulders, deliberately holds them there for a moment, then drives them down into an elevated sit-out powerbomb.
The brief pause is important.
Talia wants the opponent to understand exactly how far away the floor suddenly became.
The Final Word is her protected primary finisher and should rarely be kicked out of cleanly.
Secondary / Desperation Finisher — SECOND DRAFT
Ripcord Discus Lariat
When Talia cannot establish the leverage required for The Final Word, she pulls the opponent toward her and violently rotates through a discus lariat.
Second Draft can appear suddenly and requires considerably less preparation, making it particularly dangerous late in matches.
Talia's explanation for the name:
“First version didn't work.”
SET-UP MOVES
Upward Mobility — Talia catches a charging opponent and launches them vertically with a pop-up before catching them into whichever power move circumstances allow.
Page Turner — Short-arm pull into a brutal knee to the abdomen, leaving the opponent doubled over for The Final Word.
Heavy Editing — Repeated corner shoulder thrusts followed by Talia dragging the opponent away from the ropes and immediately attempting a lift.
COMMON MATCH SPOTS OR TENDENCIES
-
Catching diving opponents and converting their momentum into powerslams.
-
Deadlifting opponents out of submission attempts.
-
Standing up while carrying an opponent on her back.
-
Catching crossbodies instead of falling with them.
-
Attempting to lift exceptionally large opponents purely because someone suggested she couldn't.
-
Using the ropes for additional leverage on deadlifts.
-
Repeated corner shoulder attacks.
-
Turning attempted hurricanranas into powerbombs.
-
Catching superkicks and attempting to physically drag opponents into lifting range.
-
Military pressing smaller opponents and walking around with them before completing the move.
-
Becoming visibly excited when another powerhouse successfully knocks her down.
-
Occasionally stopping mid-match with an expression suggesting she has just had an extremely questionable idea.
-
Rare aerial offense; Talia prefers making the other person fly.
-
Targets the torso and lower back to make opponents easier to lift.
-
Increasingly aggressive power offense as matches progress.
MATCH STYLE PREFERENCES
Preferred Match Pace
☒ Varies by opponent
Talia prefers controlling the pace but enjoys being forced outside her comfort zone.
Best Match Types
☒ Singles
☒ Tag Team
☒ Hardcore
☒ Multi-Man
☒ Gimmick / Stipulation
Multi-person matches particularly suit Talia because they provide additional people to lift and occasionally opportunities to lift multiple people simultaneously.
This information delights her considerably more than it should.
Selling Style
☒ Fights Through Pain
☒ Story-Based Selling
Talia sells damage consistently. Her toughness does not make her immune to injury. Targeted body parts continue affecting her movement and lifting ability throughout the match.
She simply has difficulty accepting that being hurt means she should stop.
Crowd Interaction
☒ Feeds off crowd
Talia responds strongly to crowd energy and occasionally allows it to convince her to attempt something profoundly inadvisable.
CHARACTER & STORY ELEMENTS
Gimmick / Character Description
Talia “Lift” Penn is a young powerhouse attempting to establish herself in professional wrestling while unknowingly carrying one of the most extraordinary family histories imaginable.
She is the biological daughter of Carol Danvers.
Talia doesn't know.
More importantly, being Carol Danvers' daughter does not define Talia Penn.
Talia possesses no superhuman abilities. Her wrestling ability, strength, accomplishments, friendships, mistakes, victories, and failures belong to her.
The secret surrounding her mother serves as a long-term identity mystery rather than Talia's everyday gimmick.
Before Talia ever discovers where she came from, the audience should understand perfectly well who she is.
MOTIVATION
Initially, Talia's motivation is wonderfully uncomplicated:
She wants to find out how good she can become.
Professional wrestling gives Talia something measurable. Someone stands across the ring from her. The bell rings. Eventually somebody wins.
She likes that simplicity.
Titles matter because they prove accomplishment.
Respect matters because it must be earned.
Competition matters because every opponent gives Talia another opportunity to discover something about herself.
Eventually, however, another motivation will begin creeping into her life:
Answers.
And once Talia realizes people have been deliberately keeping those answers from her, finding them may become more important than championships.

ONGOING OR POTENTIAL STORYLINES
Who Is Talia Penn?
Small inconsistencies begin appearing in Talia's understanding of her childhood and family history.
The Woman Who Knows
Talia's manager knows considerably more about her origins than she admits.
Carol Danvers
Eventually Talia discovers the identity of her biological mother and must process what that information means — and, equally importantly, what it does not mean.
Human
People discovering Talia's parentage may begin expecting something extraordinary from her. Talia must confront the reality that she possesses none of Carol's abilities and determine whether she ever needed them.
You Lied To Me
Talia eventually learns her manager deliberately withheld the truth. Their relationship fractures despite the manager genuinely believing she was protecting Talia.
Lift Something Bigger
Talia develops a habit of challenging increasingly larger powerhouse wrestlers because apparently common sense is optional.
The First Championship
Talia's first title pursuit becomes an opportunity to establish something that belongs entirely to her — not Carol, her manager, or her hidden history.

We discussed this.
Talia rarely notices.

🔻 BACKSTORY & MOTIVATION
Short Bio / Backstory
Mara Penn has been part of Talia's life for as long as Talia can meaningfully remember.
She isn't Talia's biological mother.
Talia knows that much.
What Talia doesn't know is that Mara became part of a chain of people entrusted with keeping Carol Danvers' daughter safe and separated from the dangers associated with Carol's life.
Eventually that responsibility became something considerably more personal.
Talia became family.
Mara never expected professional wrestling.
She certainly never expected Talia to become six-foot-three, nearly two hundred pounds, discover an alarming enthusiasm for lifting human beings, and decide that getting hit professionally sounded like an excellent career choice.
Mara initially opposed the decision.
Then she realized Talia was going to wrestle with or without her.
So Mara made another choice:
Go with her.
When Talia signed with AWS, Mara followed as her advocate, adviser, and handler.
Officially, she helps guide the career of an exceptionally promising young powerhouse.
Unofficially, Mara is attempting something far more difficult:
Let Talia build her own life while protecting a secret that becomes harder to justify withholding with every passing day.
Mara knows who Talia's mother is.
She knows why Talia was separated from her.
And she knows there may eventually come a day when Carol Danvers comes looking for her daughter.
Mara has absolutely no idea what she will tell Talia when that day arrives.
GOALS IN AWS
Mara wants Talia to succeed as Talia Penn.
She wants her to develop independence, experience failure, earn accomplishments, build relationships, and discover what kind of woman she wants to become before the truth about her birth threatens to redefine her entire identity.
Mara has no interest in championships for herself, political influence, controlling AWS, or using Talia as a route to power.
Her objective is simultaneously simpler and much harder:
Protect Talia without preventing her from living.
Unfortunately, Mara's greatest mistake may be believing she gets to decide which truths Talia is ready to hear.
NOTABLE FEUDS OR ALLIANCES
Talia “Lift” Penn: Mara's primary relationship and emotional anchor. Their bond is genuine, affectionate, occasionally argumentative, and eventually threatened by Mara's secrecy.
Carol Danvers: No current on-screen relationship. Carol's existence should remain a long-term storyline element rather than immediately dominating Talia's AWS career.
Future AWS Relationships: Talia should be allowed to develop organic friendships, rivals, mentors, enemies, and championship ambitions before her parentage becomes the center of her story.
CORE CHARACTER RULE
Talia Penn is human.
She possesses no superpowers, enhanced durability, flight, energy projection, cosmic awareness, superhuman healing, or inherited Captain Marvel abilities.
Her size, strength, athleticism, wrestling ability, and toughness exist within the boundaries of an exceptionally gifted human professional wrestler.
Carol Danvers is Talia's mother, not Talia's moveset.
Most importantly:
Talia does not know Carol Danvers is her biological mother.
Until that revelation occurs on-screen, Talia must never behave as though she knows, suspects, remembers, or secretly understands her parentage unless explicitly established through future storyline development.
The secret is part of Talia's story.
It is not her entire identity.
