Don't Start a Fight that you Can't Finish
Act 1: Aftermath
The scene opens on the beautiful Georgia countryside. The late afternoon started to give way to the early evening. The smell of the wild flowers drifted on the air, mixing with the smell of freshly plowed fields. A light breeze moved through the tall trees, as the camera moved along the long stretch of road, that wound itself along the countryside. The camera soon moves along a driveway that soon gives way to a ranch that sat by itself, along with a large barn and cows and horses grazing in the wide pens that lined the grounds. The camera moves to the interior, where we see hardwood walls, and shelves filled with awards, titles, and trophies. Other odds and ends could be seen including two very large Irish Wolfhounds and a hound dog lying in front of the fireplace that no longer burned. The camera moves to the kitchen where we see Avery, Johnny and Sarah sitting around the table. A bottle of dark liquid sat in the middle of the table, and Avery was bandaged around her midsection with a now faded blackened eye. Bruises could still be seen on her lower arms and flinched as she leaned back in the chair.
Avery: Well that didn't go as planned.
Sarah: That's for sure. I mean it could've been worse right?
Johnny: Two days in the hospital... That's bad enough.
Avery: That's nothing. I've been through worse.
The two of them look at Avery as Sarah smirks.
Sarah: Why does it not surprise me? Johnny told me that you were a fighter.
Avery: I always have been. I had to be.
Johnny: With the family that you have, I can see why.
Avery sighs, as she flinches slightly once again.
Johnny: Are you alright?
Avery: I'm fine. Just still in a little pain.
Sarah: Maybe you should have waited a couple of more days until you were fully healed.
Sarah looks over at the fireplace and smiles seeing the three dogs lying in front of it.
Sarah: That old hound dog is still around?
Avery: Yeah. The three of them lay by the fireplace most days now.
Sarah: Being lazy…
Johnny: Hey ol’ Blue has earned his spot.
Avery laughs.
Avery: He’s right. I think we’ve all earned our spots.
Johnny: That we have.
Avery: But I don't think our opponents have.
Sarah: We have a match?
Avery: Aye.
Sarah: Against who?
Avery: The Schooner twins…
Sarah: Who?
Avery: The Schoner twins. I don't know how to pronounce it… I mean I don't know who they are.
Sarah: What do you mean? You've been in the company before.
Avery: Yeah, but I don't remember ever seeing them.
Sarah: Maybe your spooky friend has.
Avery looks at her with a puzzled look.
Avery: Necra? Maybe… I'll go and call her.
Avery gets to her feet, as she flinches from a slight pain, as the scene fades to black.
The scene reopens on the ranch house. The sun had fully set and now the lights cast their light to the ground outside. The camera moves back to the interior where Avery, Sarah, Necra, and Johnny sat. A bottle of Tequila and whiskey sat in the middle of the table, with glasses in front of everyone. On a laptop we see the promo that the Schoner twins had posted. It soon finishes as Necra closes the lap top
Necra: I've never seen these two. If they're as wealthy and connected like they say they are, then I would have seen them. I run in that circle after all.
Avery: That's what I thought. These brats really think they can stand against us?
Sarah: It's women like that, make the rest of us look bad. But then again they think money can make them happy and that it is everything.
Avery: It's not.
Sarah: Damn right its not. The best stuff in life is free. I mean have they ever looked at the setting over the mountains? Or a calf just learning to walk?
Avery: Or watching the mist rise over the moors. But then again I dont think either one of them wanders outside long enough.
Necra: Yeah those tans are fake.
Sarah and Avery look at her with a puzzled look.
Avery: How can you tell?
Necra leans back and moves her hands along her body.
Necra: Look at me. This is what a real tan looks like. But then again, I'm naturally tan. But those are tanning bed bodies. Not to mention they look like twigs.
Sarah: You're right, they do.
Avery: It's said here they weigh 246 pounds between them.
Sarah: I bench press more than that. I could toss them over my shoulder like a sack of apples. Damn they would have never made it in the service.
Johnny: Look at the skeleton calling them twigs…
Necra sighs and shakes her head.
Necra: I call it like I see it.
Avery: They like to flaunt their money don’t they?
Sarah: Who cares? When all is said and done, and their looks fade, and the plastic in their bodies starts to let go, what will they have left? Nothing is what.
Avery: You know Sarah is right. No matter how much wealth, and power you have it doesn’t matter to anyone in the world. They will forget you as soon as you’re in the ground. You can’t take it with you so why does it matter what you have in the end?
Sarah: It’s funny they say they are being forced into this match.
Avery: Forced? Right. Who did they have to blow to get the spot?
Johnny: I’m sure we’ll see it on Only Fans…
Sarah: No one is going to pay to see that, it’ll be on Porn Hub.
Necra stifles a laugh as she leans back in her chair.
Avery: You make fun of our team name… Isn’t that a bit childish?
Sarah: A tad bit. Just because we came up with it after a few drinks doesn't mean nothing.
Avery: Damn right. It’s funny that you bring up the fact that we are basic, but you know what it beats being a spoiled brat that thinks money can do anything or give you what you want. But we all know that’s bullshit. I’ve spent more money on a horse than you spend on a bottle of champagne, or a hotel room for a week.
Sarah: My prize stud bull is worth more than either one of your bags, or trips, or anything that you wear. Come and talk to me when you spend a few hundred thousand on an animal that can run you over and not think twice about it… But then again I’m not sure you know the difference between a cow pie and a mud mask.
Avery laughs putting her feet up on the edge of the table.
Avery: I think they have us confused for some other girls on the roster. We are loud, but you know what? We’re having a good time. We have never been trained by professional trainers because we don’t need to be told how good we are, we know how good we are. I learned to fight thanks to my cousins. Then when I traveled around the world I learned a lot of different styles, and how to defend myself on my own.
Sarah: I trained in a dirty gym, with that man right there.
She points at Johnny and smiles.
Sarah: My father gave his life for this business and taught me everything that he could. That’s why we don’t care about your skills, your so called professional training and all of the trophies and other awards that were handed to you. Do you know why?
Avery: You didn’t earn them. Everything that you got has been GIVEN to you, all because no one wanted to say no to you. I earned these tag titles after beating the holy hell out of two other people and now this is our first title defense and we plan on keeping them no matter what we have to do.
Sarah: I’m not the voice of the people, but I’m sure no one wants to hear a rant about how “great” you and your sister are. All you do is talk about yourself and how much money you have. You are boring! No one cares! You are not superior, and never will be. There’s only one place you’ll be at the end of this match and it won't be upright.
Avery: No one wants what you are offering. We plan on standing in your way and making sure that the tag titles stay in our hands. We plan on breaking your faces and make all of that work that you paid for, worthless. We are not going to let you walk away under your own power, let alone say you beat the rightful champions. You want what you can’t have, just because mommy and daddy never told you no about anything in your life.
Sarah: Your parents didn’t give a rats ass about you, that’s why you crave attention, and want everyone to notice you because no one ever has. You see when you stay in those fancy hotels, the people that wait on you hand and foot go back to their spots in the hotel, they talk about you and make fun of you, while taking the money that you paid them. See that’s the kind of people that you look down on, and those are the ones that make sure everything is done for you. You don’t know how to do anything for yourselves. You spend money like it’s water, and don’t care who you hurt or step on in the end. That’s why we are fighting this match. It’s not for us, it’s for everyone that’s like us, who lives a normal life, and works hard for what they want.
Avery: I’ve never been given anything in my life, I had to work for it all, and this match is going to prove why we are the tag team champions. We fight for everyone in the locker room that has worked their hands to the bone. We stand for the blue collar workers who try to make ends meet, while they have one foot in the grave each day. You and Claire have no idea what it is to struggle and work for something. If you want these titles then you better bring everything that you have into this match and show us why you deserve them more than we do.
Avery gets to her feet, as does Sarah. The two of them walk to the front door as Avery whistles as three figures move toward the door from across the field.
Sarah: You are nothing more than little wannabe rich brats that want everything handed to them in the end. But we’re not going to let that happen. We are going to defend them against you and everyone that will come and step in front of us.
Avery: We are not going to back down, we will not stop until you are on the mat and we have the titles in hand once again. If by some chance you do manage to win, just know that we are going to come at you with everything, but that is a very big if. I just hope you know what you’re getting into because there is no going back.
Sarah and Avery turn back and head inside as the dogs follow behind them. Avery closes the door as the scene fades to black.
“And when I vest my flashing sword, and my hand takes hold in judgement. I will take vengeance upon mine enemies, and I will repay those who haze me O lord, raise me to thy right hand and count me among thy saints.”
