Extreme heat
The Bayou Blaze, Antoine and Gabriel LeClair, absolutely detested spinning their wheels in this business. Stagnant progression, doing good but not good enough. Relevant enough to be seen but not enough to be champions. But alas that was their current fate. A big enough deal to chase gold, compete for tag titles, but not good enough to be champions…
Or at least that was the growing sentiment among the fans that weren't feeling the Blaze. Sure they had fans, Antoine and Gabriel always had them. But what about silencing those doubters? The men and women in the audience that didn’t think they were good enough? Those people gave the Bayou Blaze chips on their shoulders and extra reasons to step their game up. As if competing in front of the fabled 2300 Arena against World Elite and Hard Mode in a number one contenders match for the tag titles wasn’t enough
Antoine and Gabriel had the World Elite on their radars since day one. A coherent group that thrived in tag team and stable combat. You’d be hard-pressed to find a stable that worked better and was more dominant in group situations than they were in this ring. But no team worried the Bayou Blaze in this match. This just meant that the “creole choppers” as they were nicknamed by the wrestling media for their fast and quick wrestling style had to lock in if they wanted the win.
And then there was Hard Mode; Riley Rune “The Legacy Link” and Mia “Combo Breaker” Nygma, a team that has been on the radar of the Bayou Blaze for a while. Both women, childhood friends, who would kick your ass, win a match, and celebrate with a long video game session before bed. But those gamers were one of the Asylum’s most fearsome teams. They were former tag team champions before AWS restructuring. Mia also held singles gold. This team was nothing short of a threat!
It also bears repeating that this was a number one contenders match for the AWS Undisputed World Tag Team Championships and while the Bayou Blaze held them once before the reformation of Asylum Wrestling Society they wanted them again and they were going to make it clear that they were on a mission. They just needed the right promo to make that clear to all who could hear.

The scene was in the swamp at their compound, away from buildings and homes on the compound and intimately lit with the light of dusk as the first were lit around them as men and women in voodoo hoods (who were actually wrestlers for Thrillseeker Wrestling and some AWS Dojo trainees) were lighting up torches that spelled “BB” as the sun began to set, the crickets began to chirp, and the camera would smoothly focus on the Bayou Blaze who were ready to speak their minds.
Antoine LeClar: One hell of a fight is comin’ our way. Bayou Blaze versus World Elite versus Hard Mode. Winner gets a number one contenders match for the AWS Tag Team Championships. Damn…I miss havin’ gold.
Gabriel LeClair: But you ain’t gotta worry for long bro. We on the warpath, we’re takin things to the extreme in the 2300 Arena at Ward where it’ll go down. Got me hotter than the midday sun bruh.
Antoine LeClair: I know that’s right. I miss that championship status. The power it meant, how it made every match for our fans mean more. We gotta run it back.
Gabriel LeClair: Allons we will Toine’ but I’m lookin right at Ward proper. Gonna whup AJ Flare and Kofi Von Erich OR Riley Rune and Mia Nygma. Whoever gets in our way. It don’t matter none!
With cajun slang and southern accents in full effect the Bayou Blaze made it clear that it didn’t matter who they faced they were going to win on their quest for the tag team title with absolute fervor in their voices with clips of their opponents and the match graphic appeared on screen
Antoine LeClair: Seriously I’m a lover, not a fighter. I don’t like to hit women and neither does my brother but chivalry won’t give us the AWS World Tag Team titles shame because we got something in common with Hard Mode. We got into this business young, in our mid-teens. We got unique interests outside of the ring like how y’all two love a good video game while we blow off steam with a good fish or hunt here in the bayou. On top of all that we will put our lives on the line for our tag partners but cher…y’all are just really good friends and nothing wrong with that. But me and Gabe tho? We’re not just friends, we're brothers. There’s a difference.
Gabriel LeClair: From the womb to the tomb, from high to low, thick and thin, Bayou Blaze til’ we DIE. That ain’t never gonna change with or without the titles but the thought of me winning gold with my big brother always brings a smile to my pearly whites. And yeah Hard Mode, I don’t like to hit girls but y’all gotta understand the number one contendership is on the line and in the 2300 Arena too? Hell yeah we gon’ chop y’all asses down. Knock the sonic rings out y'all.
Antoine LeClair: But it's nothing personal. Just doing what we gotta do at Ward. Unlike World Elite we won't take pure pleasure in beating your asses. AJ Flare, Kofi Von Erich this one is for you. We've been looking forward to this for a long time.
Gabriel LeClair rubbed his hands and grinned. As if he's been looking forward to this
Gabriel LeClair: We've been scouting you heavy since we first saw you wrestle. Trying to get your weaknesses down, your strengths too.
Antoine LeClair: And adapting parts of your style into ours just in case we ever squared off. We heated up now and ready for war because of this. We won't just elevate our game to your level but we will exceed it!
Gabriel LeClair: Hold up Toine’ you gotta remember this is a Ward in the 2300 Arena. We can use chairs, kendo sticks, tables, shit the fans might go old school and bring some weapons in the crowd for us to use. Hell, we could New Jack that shit and bring our own too! That's "Triple Jeopardy" for your ass!
Antoine LeClair: Yeah we got options to bring the violence of what we could do but lets be real…we don’t need them. Our fists and feet have enough heat for an extremely good win.
Gabriel LeClair: And that's a warning shot! BOW!
Gabriel pointed to the sky with a finger gun as the camera tilted up to the sky to officially end the promo.
