Step by Step
[The scene opens up and we see TJ Alexander, sitting on a stairway step, on cold concrete steel somewhere in The Crow’s Nest. As TJ who is dressed in a blue short sleeved t-shirt, and blue shorts, white pair of socks, and a pair of black and white van shoes]
“On Monday Night Ward I am in the ring with someone who I’ve faced many times, someone who I have bested many times, and someone who has gotten the best over me, someone who is considered a legend. But forget about that, right now I am still feeling sick for losing the gold rush tournament match where I am no longer in that tournament. So now I need to make a statement, I need to put myself out there in order to keep my name in conversation, and what a way to find a way and beat AJ Flare.”
[TJ grins]
“Recently somebody ask me what’s left for me to do in AWS? Somebody ask if I had anything left in the tank to really go for it, or am I just doing things half-arsed, am I strolling into matches in thinking that I am entitled to win every match going, maybe at one point that is true, but not now, right now I am in needing to shift my focus and reshape my career, and now I need to find a way to reshuffle myself into position again and be the top guy, but it’s going to be tough with the amount of top tier talent AWS has to offer. The only way I can do this is by doing this one step at a time, and it starts on Monday night Ward.”
[TJ winks into the camera]
“Since being a pro there’s about a handful of talent across many promotions that I can say with absolute certainty that I know like the back of my hand, some I like and some I hate, and AJF flare, you come into neither of them categories, but you do come into the fact that I know you, I know you like the back of my hand through the amount of times we’ve met in the ring, and without bragging, no scratch that AJF Flare, with bragging, the balance swings my way.”
[TJ grins]
“AJ Flare I understand fully, I understand the comparisons that you and I receive, that TJ Alexander is what AJ Flare wishes he could be, what TJ Alexander wishes he could have the career of AJ Flare, I understand it, we are very similar, but in the same time that comparisons go on, step by step I am building a career that will out shine yours, I am building a career that will put your career in the shadows, and I am building a name that no one will forget bruv, while AJ Flare will be a distant memory.”
[TJ pauses as he takes a deep breath]
“AJ I’ll give you credit bruv, at forty three years old you seem to be able to still step in the ring and do what we do, but how long will that last for? How long have you got left in the tank? Are you one injury away from never stepping into the ring again? That is the million pound question bruv, but believe me when I say, I am not out to finally put the nail in the coffin of your career, no, I am not like that, I am however, will do everything and ANYTHING for the win.”
[TJ pauses]
“I know how to get under your skin AJ and I will do that, I know that I need to be faster and better, and I will do just that, and AJ hold for hold, pound for pound, I am going to be better than you bruv once again because I AM ON ANOTHER LEVEL.”
[TJ pauses]
“AJ move for move I know you, I know what you’re capable off and I know how to deal and handle you, and once again as I leave Monday night Ward with another win over you, I know that I can go on further and recapture gold somehow and in some other way, but a win over you, a AWS legend, will prop me up a notch onto the pecking order, knowing that I can best you again, AJ Flare will have the powers that be take even more notice of me and be like “TJ needs another title shot”, AJ Flare when I win, look into a mirror afterwards, and call it a day.”
[TJ takes a breathe in]
“AJ Flare this is a call out for you because you need to know that your time is running up, you wish you had more but you don’t, and you certainly can’t keep up with me, no chance. Bruv I am taking your head clean off and getting that win.”
