The Television Champion that we need

The Centre Of Attention was relevant but not REALLY these days. Yeah they were booked on most shows, hell they were even getting new members. They just had one proverbial elephant in the room that brayed every time they stepped into the Centre Of Attention clubhouse…the empty championship cabinet. No gold to display in promos. No titles to help them stand out compared to the rest of the Asylum Wrestling Society lunatics. They were just a regular high tier group and that annoyed the team. Desiree Forte in particular.

Desiree loved the status and clout that came with being a champion as a wrestler. The paychecks were fatter, people saw you as important to the place you wrestled for. She was one of the few Lunatics that put genuine value on money over “violence” or “the art” of wrestling or some vague psychological message that only they understood but the French-Canadian believed that gave her an edge because she fought for something real. Something practical. And she did a damn good job at it.

Just look at how she bonded with her teammates in the Centre Of Attention. They respected how even though her goals in wrestling were vain and self-serving Desiree wrestled with absolute fury in order to accomplish those goals. Selfish motivations supported with actual in-ring talent. That's how she and Olympia Waybright became one of the best tag teams in AWS history while fitting in with the wrestling-focused Centre Of Attention.

But this time it wasn’t about the Centre Of Attention as a group it was all about Desiree Forte and her chance at championship gold and it all took place at Saturday Morning Ignite in Las Vegas. The vivacious brunette just had to win her Triple Jeopardy match for the Women's Television Championship by beating the champion Rhea Calder and her extra opponent Amanda Macleod to do it.

Rhea and Amanda were similar to each other. They were mean as hell, loved a good fight, and carried themselves like they were mad at the world with intent on making it right. Rhea was mysterious but mean as hell and could cut you apart on the mic. No wonder she was Women’s Television champ. Amanda Macleod was similarly outspoken with her words but unlike Rhea she wasn’t hard to find. There were no frills about her and it reminded Desiree a lot of Olympia in that regard. Desiree knew she’d be in for a fight against them so she needed to make a special statement on the microphone. So the scene took place with Desiree sitting with her legs crossed in a fancy chair in front of the vacant title cabinet of the Centre Of Attention clubhouse wearing a fashionable blue dress with a diamond necklace. Looking like she was in a mainstream interview and not a wrestling promo. All while the cameras were focused squarely on her in wait for her to speak.

Desiree Forte: Bonjour my name is Desiree Forte and I am pleased to have your attention because I have a lot to get off my double-D chest before my Women’s Television Championship match at Saturday Morning Ignite against the champion Rhea Calder and Amanda Macleod and T'inquiète pas it is all related to my inferior opponents because the AWS Women’s Television title needs me.

Desiree had a unique style of giving her promos. She never yelled or raised her voice and put just enough bass in it to show that she was cutting a wrestling promo. The loud talking was more Olympia’s, Mason's, or even Matt's thing. Vocally she carried herself more like Xander verbally. Largely quiet but with sharp wit. She also wasn’t afraid to get petty and talk about a wrestler’s appearance, behavior, and upbringing. Or even any out-of-ring drama they might have had for that matter. With the occasional bit of French due to her Quebec heritage. Rhea and Amanda should take notice…

Desiree Forte: Just look who my opponents are. Two ugly, creepy, salopes. That’s bitches for those who don’t speak French. And they have the audacity to think they can beat me? Especially now that I’m not simply fighting for myself but for my team and put some gold in our barren title case?

Desiree asked her question with a fiery glare followed by a conceited laugh.

Desiree Forte: Même pas en rêve. Not even in their dreams! Not with everything that is at stake. Not just with my team because obviously you know our mission to return gold but my personal mission. My GOAL… is to bring beauty to the Asylum. Be a champion who fights as good as they look. And I look damn good~

Desiree flipped her hair while she made this statement now. Adding to her arrogance.

Desiree Forte: Seriously I see the looks I get backstage, the comments I get from men and women including from Rhea and Amanda in how “I don’t belong here.” How I should go to those brighter, flashier, companies like the one in Connecticut and Florida. Or, and this is my personal favorite, how my teammates are carrying me. And then I kick them in the face and everything is fine in the world. My name means “Desire” in French. Don’t hate because I can steal a win and your boyfriend by any means necessary perdantes

Desiree took a relieved sigh. Everything she said was true too. With her photogenic beauty and body that blended elite athleticism and feminine sex appeal Desiree did stand out from a lot of women in the Asylum Wrestling Society. Like a remnant of the “diva” era of wrestling. However Desiree was one of the Asylum’s hardest hitters with educated feet. All while being unafraid to wrestle dirty in the middle of the ring.

Desiree Forte: And just look at me. The Asylum Wrestling Society Women’s Television championship deserves to be around the waist with a woman who has a sexy one and that’s me. I’m too sexy and talented to be in the shadows for any reason like our disgraceful current champion Rhea Calder and I’m not a cavewoman with a terrible accent like Amanda. You want “world elite” you’re looking at the woman from the team who defines that.

Desiree made that clear as a highlight reel montage played to show her off. Her posing in front of cameras in photoshoots and bikinis and beating the hell out of other lunatics in AWS action just to show what she was trying to do here. Blend beauty and talent together to show that you can be hot as hell and fight like hell. As her tag team title reign with Olympia can attest to. But this wasn’t about Olympia. It was all about her.

Desiree Forte: So after Saturday Morning Ignite and I walk out with the Women’s Television title you’ll not only be looking at a woman who is truly worthy of wearing such a prestigious championship but someone you would actually like to see on your TV. If you were smart, you’d bet money on me. Because I’m betting on myself to the utmost to elevate that title, my team, and myself. So tune in this Saturday morning. You won’t regret it. Merci beaucoup for your attention to this matter~. And Rhea, Amanda, all the luck in the world won’t help you beat me~

And with a wave and her blowing the kiss at the camera Desiree formally ending the promo with the Centre of Attention eyeball logo appeared on screen.
