Nobody knows where he came from.
According to wrestling folklore, he was once a death match wrestler who disappeared after a brutal, unsanctioned bout. Years later he returned wearing the mask and speaking only a handful of words each year.

He appears whenever violence reaches its peak, as if drawn to suffering itself.
