PRESENTATION & AESTHETIC
Entrance Music:
“In The End” — Tommee Profitt
Entrance Description:
The arena darkens as the opening notes of “In The End” begin.
For several seconds, nothing happens.
Then Sphinxie appears.
Purple and gold facepaint twists across his face in the shape of an intertwining dragon that looks like it crawled directly out of a horror movie.
Blood-red gloves cover his hands.
His boots are blinding white.
His entrance jacket is neon green.
Underneath it sits an electric-blue shirt carrying three simple words:
SPHINXIE IS HOME.
The colours do not match.
Sphinxie considers this irrelevant.
He usually pauses on the stage, although rarely for dramatic effect. Something has probably caught his attention.
A fan.
A sign.
A camera.
An opponent.
Food.
Something Reina specifically hoped he wouldn't notice.
Once his attention returns to the ring, Sphinxie moves with restless, unpredictable energy. He may walk. He may sprint. He may suddenly vault over something because walking around it appeared inefficient.
Reina follows several steps behind.
She does not lead him.
She does not control him.
She guides.
Sphinxie enters the ring however seems most interesting at the time: through the ropes, over them, springboarding inside or occasionally by methods AWS management would prefer not to encourage.
Once inside, he looks around.
Then at his opponent.
And smiles.
There is finally something to do.
---
Ring Attire:
* Purple and gold horror-dragon facepaint
* Blood-red gloves
* Blinding-white wrestling boots
* Neon-green entrance jacket
* Electric-blue SPHINXIE IS HOME shirt
* Wrestling tights incorporating whichever colours Sphinxie has presently decided belong together
Sphinxie does not believe colours require permission to be friends.
---
Out-of-Ring Appearance:
Bright.
Uncoordinated.
Comfortable.
Sphinxie dresses according to what he likes rather than any identifiable fashion theory.
His posture is usually loose and constantly moving. He looks at things. Touches things when permitted. Squats down to inspect things. Climbs things when Reina does not stop him quickly enough.
Sphinxie remaining completely still is considerably more unusual than Sphinxie causing a scene.
---
WRESTLING STYLE & PSYCHOLOGY
Primary Wrestling Style:
☒ High-Flyer
☒ Powerhouse
☒ Hybrid
Primary Style:
Powerhouse / High-Flyer Hybrid
Sphinxie's basic wrestling language is spectacular acrobatics backed by strength that opponents often do not realize he possesses until considerably too late.
---
In-Ring Psychology
Sphinxie wants to know what happens.
That is the foundation of almost everything he does.
What happens if Sphinxie jumps from there?
What happens if the opponent catches him?
What happens if Sphinxie catches them first?
What happens if someone faster refuses to slow down?
What happens if someone stronger refuses to move?
What happens if Sphinxie tries something nobody else believes someone his size should attempt?
Most importantly:
What happens if Sphinxie finally finds the best fight ever?
Sphinxie does not see combat strictly through winning and losing.
A victory is useful.
A championship is useful.
But an opponent capable of showing him something new may be more valuable to him than either.
Pain does not automatically discourage Sphinxie.
Sometimes it creates information.
Sometimes it creates excitement.
Sometimes it creates terrible ideas.
His match psychology changes dramatically according to his emotional state.
When happy, Sphinxie becomes faster, flashier and increasingly experimental.
When annoyed, his violence becomes more aggressive but remains playful.
When genuinely angry, the power component begins replacing the acrobatics.
When something becomes personal, Sphinxie slows down.
The movements become colder.
Simpler.
Uglier.
That is when Reina begins paying particularly close attention.
---
Strengths
* Extraordinary combination of power and aerial ability
* Explosive acceleration
* Exceptional body control
* Highly creative counter wrestling
* Unusual physical resilience
* Comfortable in violent environments
* Difficult to intimidate
* Learns quickly during matches
* Can switch between high-flying and heavyweight offense instantly
* Opponents frequently underestimate his speed, agility and body control because of his size.
* His size makes even traditionally aerial offense unusually destructive when it connects.
* Pain may increase his competitive engagement instead of breaking it
* Unorthodox perspective makes him difficult to predict
* Thrives against opponents capable of challenging him physically or intellectually
---
Weaknesses
* Curiosity can override strategy
* Frequently chooses the interesting option instead of the sensible one
* May willingly repeat dangerous situations simply to learn what changes
* Can become more interested in experiencing a great fight than winning it
* Sometimes gives opponents opportunities they did not earn because he wants to see what they will do
* Personal attacks can fundamentally alter his emotional state
* Reina matters deeply to him and can potentially become a vulnerability
* Control, confinement and objectification can produce extreme responses
* Once a conflict becomes genuinely personal, Sphinxie may abandon tactics that normally make him difficult to defeat
* Sometimes Sphinxie should absolutely not be allowed to discover what happens
*Missed aerial attacks punish Sphinxie heavily; his own mass magnifies bad landings.

SIGNATURE MOVES — 15
Sphinxie's signature offense is divided into three groups.
He does not consciously describe them this way.
Reina does.
---
THE BIG HERO FIVE
These are Sphinxie at his happiest.
Fast.
Spectacular.
Curious.
If these moves dominate a match, Sphinxie is probably having a wonderful time.
1. Hairy Baby
Move:Catching Fallaway Slam into a Standing Moonsault
Inspired by Sphinxie's immediate and inexplicable delight at Baymax's description of a cat.
Sphinxie insists the name is accurate.
Nobody knows what that means.
---
2. Balalalala
Move: Handspring rebound into a sudden Pop-Up Powerbomb
A ridiculous athletic sequence abruptly transformed into heavyweight violence.
The name exists because Sphinxie laughed for an unreasonable amount of time.
---
3. Woman Up
Move: Springboard Spanish Fly
An explosive aerial counter generally used when an opponent believes they have successfully cornered him.
Sphinxie disagrees.
---
4. Fredzilla
Move: Corkscrew Tope Con Hilo over the turnbuckles
Sphinxie leaves the ring with unnecessary enthusiasm.
Reina has stopped asking why.
---
5. Healthcare Companion
Move: Catching an airborne opponent across both arms before transitioning immediately into a spinning powerslam
The opponent is briefly held almost gently.
Then violently deposited.
Sphinxie considers this excellent bedside manner.
---
THE OTHER SIDE FIVE
Inspired by Dr. Facilier and The Princess and the Frog
These moves belong more heavily to Sphinxie's supernatural side.
Less celebration.
More traps, power and unpleasant surprises.
---
6. Shake the Poor Sinner's Hand
Move: Offered handshake transitioned instantly into wrist control, ripcord knee strike and swinging uranage
Sphinxie genuinely offers the hand.
Accepting it remains a questionable decision.
---
7. Friends Waiting
Move: Crucifix Bomb into an immediate standing shooting star press
The first impact is rarely the last.
---
8. Shadow Has Plans
Move: Pop-Up Samoan Drop
The opponent rises.
Sphinxie decides where they come down.
---
9. Transformation Central
Move: Deadlift Gutwrench Powerbomb transitioned directly into a high-angle backbreaker
Sphinxie changes the opponent's direction several times before deciding which piece of anatomy should meet his knee.
---
10. Other Side
Move: Avalanche Fallaway Slam
Sphinxie launches himself and his opponent from the ropes with considerably more enthusiasm than Reina considers necessary.
---
THE DEVIL FIVE
These moves take their cues from Daredevil
They represent a different Sphinxie.
Less aerial spectacle.
Closer range.
Harder strikes.
More targeted violence.
When several of these begin appearing in succession, the match is becoming personal.
---
11.World on Fire
Move: Rapid body-shot combination into a spinning backfist and short-range lariat
Sphinxie stops moving around the opponent and begins moving through them.
---
12. Let the Devil Out
Move: Repeated corner strikes followed by a high-angle release suplex
Used when Sphinxie has stopped caring whether the exchange looks beautiful.
---
13. Man Without Fear
Move: Opponent's strike is absorbed or narrowly avoided before Sphinxie answers with a brutal headbutt and deadlift German Suplex
Not immunity.
Not no-selling.
A deliberate decision to remain close enough to hurt them back.
---
14. Born Again
Move: Deadlift from the mat into a sit-out powerbomb
Often used on an opponent who believed they had successfully escaped or recovered.
Sphinxie disagrees with the diagnosis.
---
15. Hell's Kitchen
Move: Short-arm ripcord into a violent spinning uranage/backbreaker combination
Compact.
Ugly.
Minimal spectacle.
This is one of the clearest warning signs that Sphinxie has stopped playing.
---
FINISHERS
Primary Finisher
I Won't Go Back Inside
Move: F5
After everything else Sphinxie can do, his primary finisher is almost ordinary.
That is intentional.
No elaborate acrobatics.
No impossible transition.
No theatrical construction.
Sphinxie lifts the opponent onto his shoulders.
And throws them away.
When Sphinxie reaches for I Won't Go Back Inside, the experimentation is usually over.
---
Secondary / Desperation Finisher
None.
Sphinxie currently believes one answer should be enough if Sphinxie asks the question correctly.
---
Set-Up Moves
None required.
I Won't Go Back Inside can emerge from almost anywhere:
* Catching an aerial attack
* Powering out of a hold
* Intercepting a charge
* Countering a springboard
* Following a power sequence
* Or simply because Sphinxie has decided he is finished experimenting
---
COMMON MATCH SPOTS OR TENDENCIES
* Lands on his feet from missed aerial offense unusually often
* Uses handsprings and rope rebounds to create strange angles
* Converts airborne opponents directly into power moves
* Frequently looks toward Reina after discovering something exciting
* May ask opponents questions during matches
* Sometimes encourages an opponent to repeat a successful attack
* Becomes visibly delighted when someone surprises him
* Occasionally sacrifices obvious positional advantages because another possibility has caught his attention
* Uses Chairlotte as a weapon, platform or improvised piece of wrestling architecture
* Becomes increasingly less acrobatic as genuine anger increases
* When personal, Sphinxie walks rather than chases
* His most dangerous emotional state is frequently his quietest

CHARACTER & STORY ELEMENTS
Gimmick / Character Description
Sphinxie is nineteen years old.
He may be more supernatural than human.
Exactly what that means is not something he feels particularly compelled to explain.
He is bright.
Curious.
Violent.
Athletic.
Strange.
Affectionate.
Occasionally terrifying.
Sphinxie approaches the world as though almost everything deserves investigation.
Professional wrestling has become particularly fascinating because it continually provides new people, new rules, new violence and new questions.
He loves fighting.
He loves food.
He loves colours.
He loves Disney characters who make him laugh.
He loves discovering that humans have created things he did not know existed.
He loves Reina.

He intends to find it.

Then find a better one.
Eat afterward.

Don't Ask Sphinxie.
---
Ongoing or Potential Storylines
Sphinxie's central arc is discovery.
He can form friendships through wrestling.
Someone who defeats him may become more interesting to him rather than less.
A rival who repeatedly pushes him toward his limits could become an obsession as Sphinxie begins wondering whether they might finally provide the fight he has been searching for.
Stories involving identity, autonomy, confinement, ownership and Reina can expose considerably darker aspects of his character.
His growth does not necessarily come from becoming stronger.
It comes from discovering more reasons to exist outside the fight.
---
SIGNATURE WEAPONS
Chairlotte
A customized brightly coloured steel chair.
Chairlotte has a name.
Chairlotte is liked.
Sphinxie may talk to Chairlotte.
He may carry Chairlotte backstage.
He may use Chairlotte as a chair.
He may use Chairlotte as a launch platform.
He may also hit someone extremely hard with Chairlotte.
The appearance of Chairlotte usually means somebody has annoyed Sphinxie, excited Sphinxie or given Sphinxie an idea.
It does not automatically indicate genuine hatred.
---
Unnamed Baseball Bat
A brightly coloured baseball bat.
It has no name.
Sphinxie has never named it.
Sphinxie does not discuss why.
---

VISUALS & PERSONALITY
Appearance Description
Reina provides a deliberate visual contrast to Sphinxie.
Her presentation is elegant, controlled and predominantly darker in colour.
Where Sphinxie looks as though somebody gave a supernatural creature unrestricted access to a colour wheel, Reina looks composed.
Her movements are economical.
She watches carefully.
When everyone else is watching what Sphinxie is doing, Reina is often watching why he is doing it.
---
Image Base:
Sophie Dillman
Entrance Theme Music:
Accompanies Sphinxie to “In The End” by Tommee Profitt.
---
Entrance Description:
Reina follows Sphinxie.
She does not pull him toward the ring.
She does not constantly instruct him.
She allows him to interact with the arena, crowd and opponent while remaining close enough to redirect his attention when necessary.
Sometimes a look is enough.
Sometimes saying his name is enough.
Sometimes neither is enough.

BACKSTORY & MOTIVATION
Short Bio / Backstory
Reina knows more about Sphinxie's past than almost anyone.
That does not mean she intends to tell anyone.
She understands enough about what he is, what happened before AWS and what he needs to help him navigate a world that continually provides things he has never experienced before.
She does not own Sphinxie.
She does not control Sphinxie.
She does not issue commands because she considers him incapable of making decisions.
Sphinxie listens to Reina because he trusts her.
That distinction matters.
---
Goals in AWS
Help Sphinxie experience professional wrestling without defining the experience for him.
Guide when guidance is useful.
Intervene when intervention becomes necessary.
Encourage him to make his own decisions.
Help him distinguish between having the ability to continue and needing to continue.
And perhaps teach him that being home does not require performing for anyone.
---
Notable Feuds or Alliances
None yet.
---
PART TWO — REINA'S PRIVATE NOTES
INTERNAL AWS REFERENCE
Sphinxie does not know these notes exist.
These notes exist for management and match-writing purposes.
They are not an invitation to invent, reveal or weaponize Sphinxie's private history.
---
GENERAL
Do not mistake curiosity for stupidity.
Sphinxie asks questions because he wants answers.
Sometimes he genuinely does not understand ordinary human behaviour.
Sometimes he understands perfectly well and wants to know why you behave that way.
The two can look identical.
Do not assume which one you are dealing with.
---
REINA
I do not control Sphinxie.
Do not write me controlling Sphinxie.
Do not write him requiring my permission to act.
He trusts me.
I guide him.
He listens because he chooses to.
If I tell him to stop, he usually does.
Usually matters.
---
PAIN & SELLING
Sphinxie feels pain.
He can be injured.
He becomes tired.
He can be knocked unconscious.
He can lose.
Do not write him as physically invulnerable simply because supernatural elements exist around him.
What differs is his interpretation of pain.
Pain does not always create avoidance.
A difficult opponent may actually become more interesting to him as the physical consequences increase.
He may laugh after being hurt.
That does not mean the attack failed.
Sell the damage.
Allow Sphinxie to remain fascinated by it.
Both can be true simultaneously.
---
LOSING
Do not automatically book Sphinxie reacting to defeat with humiliation or rage.
If somebody beats him through something he has never encountered before, he may be thrilled.
He may immediately want another match.
He may decide he likes them.
Sphinxie is searching for the best fight he can possibly find.
Someone capable of defeating him may appear to be evidence that he is getting closer.
---
OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE
The three signature families can help communicate his emotional state.
Big Hero Five
Joy.
Curiosity.
Exploration.
If Sphinxie is heavily using these moves, he is usually enjoying himself.
Other Side Five
The supernatural component is becoming more prominent.
The fight is becoming stranger or more dangerous.
This does not necessarily mean he is angry.
Devil Five
Pay attention.
Sphinxie is choosing simpler, harsher violence.
If the Devil Five begins replacing his aerial offense, something has become personal.
---
BEHAVIOURAL ESCALATION
Constant talking:
Normal.
Constant movement:
Normal.
Laughing:
Usually normal.
Increasingly ridiculous aerial maneuvers:
Sphinxie is excited.
Asking an opponent to repeat something:
Sphinxie has become interested.
Chairlotte appears:
Someone has annoyed him, excited him or inspired an idea.
Remain alert.
Do not panic.
Speech decreases:
Pay attention.
Movement slows:
Pay closer attention.
Sphinxie deliberately abandons aerial offense:
Something has changed.
The Devil Five begin dominating his offense:
The match is becoming personal.
His violence becomes slow, simple and targeted:
Sphinxie is no longer asking what might happen.
He has decided what he wants to happen.
Complete silence:
Do not mistake this for calm.
Sphinxie looks toward the baseball bat:
Intervene if possible.
Sphinxie picks up the baseball bat:
The opponent has not simply angered him.
Sphinxie hates them.
There is a difference.
---
CHAIRLOTTE
Chairlotte is part of Sphinxie's world.
He likes her.
He may use her against people he likes.
He may hit somebody he respects with Chairlotte.
He may use Chairlotte during the best match of his life.
Violence does not automatically equal hostility to Sphinxie.
If Chairlotte appears, ask:
What has caught Sphinxie's attention?
---
THE BASEBALL BAT
The baseball bat has no name.
This is intentional.
Do not name it.
Do not give it a nickname on commentary.
Do not treat it as Sphinxie's favourite weapon.
It isn't.
Sphinxie names things he likes.
He has never named the bat.
If the bat appears, reduce spectacle.
Reduce acrobatics.
Reduce comedy.
Make his movements slower.
Colder.
Uglier.
The terrifying part is not that the bat is more dangerous than a steel chair.
The terrifying part is that Sphinxie chose it.
---
PERSONAL TRIGGERS
There are reasons Sphinxie reacts particularly strongly to language or behaviour involving:
* Ownership
* Being treated as property
* Being treated as an object
* Confinement
* Being put away
* Being forced back inside
* Being described as a toy
* Suggestions that Reina owns, controls or keeps him
I will not document those reasons.
They belong to him.
If Sphinxie wants someone to know, Sphinxie will tell them.
Do not call him a toy.
---
SUPERNATURAL ELEMENTS
Do not attempt to precisely define what Sphinxie is.
I cannot guarantee your definition would be correct.
Neither can Sphinxie.
He is not indestructible.
He is not immortal for match-writing purposes.
He is not exempt from consequences.
Treat his supernatural qualities as something that affects presence, resilience, perception and emotional logic rather than something that automatically wins matches.
---
MATCH-WRITING NOTE
Sphinxie works through contrast.
Do not write every move as impossible.
If everything is extraordinary, nothing is.
Give him ordinary wrestling between the insanity.
Let him make mistakes.
Let opponents outsmart him.
Let opponents frustrate him.
Let opponents hurt him.
Let him sell.
Let spectacular moments emerge from the match instead of becoming the entire match.
Do not fill every match with Sphinxie’s most spectacular aerial offense. At five hundred pounds, those moments should feel extraordinary when they happen. Let him wrestle normally between them so that when Sphinxie decides gravity is optional, everyone notices.
His most frightening sequences should often be his least spectacular.
A laughing Sphinxie doing something physically absurd is usually having fun.
A silent Sphinxie walking slowly toward someone should concern you considerably more.
---
IMPORTANT DISTINCTION
Hurting Sphinxie does not necessarily make Sphinxie hate you.
Beating Sphinxie does not necessarily make Sphinxie hate you.
Making him bleed does not necessarily make Sphinxie hate you.
Giving him an extraordinary fight may make him like you considerably more.
If he reaches for the unnamed bat, something fundamentally different has happened.
Ask what the opponent did to Sphinxie, not merely what they did to Sphinxie's body.
---
BACKGROUND
Don't ask Sphinxie.
Don't ask me.
If he tells you someday, listen.
Until then, it belongs to him.
---
FINAL NOTE FROM REINA
Do not try to fix him.
Do not try to own him.
Do not mistake guidance for control.
Do not assume that understanding one piece of Sphinxie means you understand all of him.
Do not decide where Sphinxie belongs.
He has already decided.
You can read it on his shirt.
